I have been busy travelling around again this year to bring you some more exciting images – someone has to do it! In consequence, I am just getting down to belatedly updating my website but I do love painting! I have painted quite a bit this year ‘en plein air’ – both oils and watercolour in London and the South East. I have been hampered from getting about with walking difficulties, but pleased to report that a hip replacement in November has been a great success.

It was great to be associated with the Help for Heroes Exhibition in Beverley, Yorkshire in February which made nearly £20,000 for this excellent cause. Many famous painters contributed from home and overseas and it was a real occasion.

In 2010 I have painted in Florida, Tenerife, West Scotland, Skye, Suffolk, Catalonia, Paxos and Corfu to name but a few. In Catalonia, I painted with Joseph Zbukvic and it was a great revelation. He is one of the finest master watercolour painters in the world. The pattern will be similar in 2011. Our first away trip away is an exciting visit to Cuba in March.

I had an article printed in the Leisure Painter on travelling light when you go out painting, which with current weight restrictions when flying with budget airlines is pretty important. My watercolour kit weighs just 3 kilos and I can carry it around all day!

My Christmas Card of Leeds Castle in the Snow was well received and cards of this image are available in Leeds Castle Shop.. It is becoming increasingly difficult to produce a card that is better the year before, but it's fun trying! I will be doing more cards in 2011 as they are proving increasingly popular. If you would like to order cards from any of the images, the minimum order is for 40. Prices quoted on request. They work well for charities and I charge less for a good cause. They can be overprinted for invitations and the like. I have also done a few demos to art groups in 2010 and I will be doing more of this in 2011 starting in Tenterden in January.

A selection of my paintings, not all of which are on the website, can always be seen at Francis Iles in Rochester, Turtle Fine Art in Rye and Lovelys in Cliftonville. Three fine galleries that have emphasis on quality and are well worth a visit. I will be exhibiting once again at the Pilgrims Way Art Group in May where I was pleased to be awarded the prize for the best watercolour, especially as it was judged by the people on Lenham – thank you.

Examples of my work can be seen here in my web gallery.

Look forward to hearing from you, regards

Peter
